About NSS Cell

NSS (NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME) organization was established by Ministry of Youth affairs and Sports, Govt. of India. It is monitored by State universities through proper channel of government. The National Service Scheme (NSS) is launched on September 24, 1969 by Dr. V.K. R.V. Rao, the Educational Minister at that time, in addition of activities in the higher education system of India with the aim of allowing students to develop their personality by providing community service while they are studying. NSS cell organizes social activities inside and outside the Institute according to planning of NSS Cell of affiliating university Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore on time to time under the guidance of Dr. Jitendtra Jain, Program Officer.

Special Seven Days Camp

The objective of seven days residential camp is to encourage the students to follow daily routine for their overall development. It provides opportunities to the students to play their role in planning and executing development of projects, developing the quality of leadership and Participation of youth in national development. This camp is organized in the rural areas only. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands-on experience to the youth in delivering community service. The camp involves NSS volunteers to undertake the scheduled activities with ‘Beti Bachao Abhiyan’, ‘Jan Saksharta Abhiyan’, ‘Jal Sanrakshan Abhiyan’ and ‘Say no to Polythene’. The NSS volunteers also make awareness through door to door campaign on cleanliness, spread of diseases, and importance of environment and judicious use of electricity, water harvesting and importance of ground water. Special Seven Days Camp organized at Village Rangwasa many times as it is the adopted village by the institute.

NSS CAMP (26/02/23 to 04/03/23)

With the aim to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service, a seven day-night boarding & lodging camp from February 26, 2023 to March 4, 2023 was organized by the NSS unit of the institute under the guidance of Dr Jitendra Jain at Village Rangwasa.

The main objective of the camp was to create awareness about social issues, promote social responsibility and develop the spirit of service among the youth. The camp was inaugurated by Sarpanch of village Rangwasa Mrs. Mamtesh Praveen Chauhan. In the said camp, various types of campaigns were conducted for the rural people by the volunteers. In which especially Beti Bachao Abhiyan , Water Conservation Campaign, Polythene Prohibition Campaign, Promotion of Girls' Education etc. are included. The volunteers carried out works like cleanliness survey, eradication of carrot grass, In the intellectual session, the campers were benefitted by the inspiring addresses of various scholars. During the camp, the students showcased their talents through cultural programs based on patriotism. Yoga training was given daily by Yoga instructor Mr.Pankaj Parmar to stay physically fit. Various indigenous games like Rumal Jhaptana, Ram-Ravana and Kitne Bhai Kitne Khel were also played to increase physical capacity. Efforts were made to enhance the physical, mental, intellectual and cultural talents of the students through the activities of the camp. On the closing session of the camp, Dr. George Thomas, the director of the institute addressed the volunteers and said that such camps prove to be very effective in the overall personality development of the students. On the occasion of the closing session, Program Officer Dr. Jitendra Jain apprised all the guests about the activities of the camp.

Orientation Program for NSS Volunteers

An Orientation program for NSS volunteers organized by NSS Cell every year for awareness about NSS and the importance of social activities. Here, the objectives of NSS along with its need to to the students and the society are communicated to the students.

Plantation

The purpose of tree plantation is to save the endangered environment and to beautify our life. The Institute organizes tree plantation every year in the Institute and outside the Institute too. The learning outcomes of the plantation are to develop love for nature, to appreciate the value of plants and to reflect feeling of service to the community.

  1. Plantation on 05/08/2017- 60 plants planted in the Institute.
  2. Plantation on 04/08/2018- 50 plants planted in the Institute.
  3. Plantation on 03/08/2019- 70 plants planted at Village Rangwasa.
NSS day Celebration

NSS cell celebrates NSS day on September 24 every year. The cell organizes different competitions and other social activities on this day.

Blood Donation Camps

The purpose to organize a blood donation camp is to motivate people to donate blood and social works. NSS Cell organizes blood donation camp every year in the Institute.

  • 24/11/2017- Total 100 units blood donated to M.Y.H, Indore.
  • 07/08/2018- Total 40 units blood donated to Indore Cloth Market Hospital
  • 27/11/2018- Total 125 units blood donated to M.Y.H, Indore.
  • 07/08/2019- Total 40 units blood donated to Indore Cloth Market Hospital
  • 25/11/2019- Total 110 units blood donated to M.Y.H, Indore.
  • 24/03/2022- Total 100 units blood donated to M.Y.H, Indore.
